Parents pray for their children

When we pray, we frequently lead prayers for our family. In fact, is there anything more natural than entrusting our loved ones to divine love? As parents, we receive the grace to educate children. It is a magnificent gift from God, stimulating and at the same time difficult. But we are not alone. During the baptism, the parents are precisely invited to recite a parents prayer. It can be a thanksgiving and an occasion to ask God to guide us in our role as father and mother, as well as asking him to accompany our children throughout their lives.

Protection prayer for your children

“Thank you God for my children, for their precious lives, today I ask you to protect them from evil, to be a shield around them, to be freed from danger, from people with bad intentions, bad words and a bad reputation.
Lord, may your angels take care of my children, protect them from any disease or virus in the environment, may there be a protective fence wherever they go, when they enter or leave the home they may be blessed, cover them with your precious blood that you shed on a cross for salvation.
Lord, that my children seek to do what is right, that their feet do not take them to places of evil, keep their minds from pornography, from foolishness, from planning evil against others, deliver them from living in falsehood and lies.
Thank you Lord for loving my children and for hearing my prayer. With all my heart I praise and bless you because you are my God and my savior. Amen.”

Prayer of Consecration of the baptized child to the Blessed Virgin

“Most Holy Virgin Mary, mother of God and our mother, we present to you this child (girl) that God has given us and entrusted to our care and protection, and who today, by holy baptism, has become a son (daughter) of God. and brother (sister) and living member of your divine Son Jesus in the holy Church. We consecrate him (her) to you with all our hearts, and we entrust him (her) confidently to your tenderness and maternal vigilance.
Through your powerful intercession, may God protect him (her) in his soul and in his body and preserve him (her) from all evils. If one day he had the misfortune to sin, remind him, most loving mother, that you are kind to the repentant sinner, and lead him (lead her) back to grace and friendship with your divine Son.
And help us, his parents and godparents, to faithfully fulfill our obligations to him (her) and the commitment we have made before God. That with our word and especially with our example we teach him to believe and practice the truths of faith, love of neighbor, compliance with God’s law and respect for his ministers.
Grant us, finally, Blessed Virgin Mary, that one day we can all come together in the house of our heavenly Father, in the intimacy of your Son and in the joy of the Holy Spirit. Amen. ”

Other prayer intentions for parents

As parents, we must face different challenges throughout our children’s lives. We pray for the mothers and we pray for the fathers so that God helps them and accompanies them in this beautiful mission that he has given them.

As parents, let us know how to seek the eternal Father for every occasion and pray for our children (reciting the prayer of mothers) and with our children. In this way, we can pray together in the morning, to present our days to God and/or at night, to hand them over to him.

Let us not hesitate to ask for the help of great saints who will know how to intercede for us and our children:

  • Let us pray to San Antonio de Padua to bless and protect our family.
  • Let us entrust our young scholars and students to Saint Expedite, especially at the time of their exams.

There are also numerous prayers for couples who wish to have children. Let us deposit in the loving heart of Jesus this waiting, which can cause suffering.

Parents, let yourself be guided by the Father with !

To love, raise, strengthen and educate our children, we must first love ourselves and learn our beautiful and intense role as mother and father.
