Prayer from Psalm 56 – Asking for trust and gratitude (Explanation)

In the psalm 56 it is asked for mercy, because it is being trampled by the enemies. Faith in God is placed even in the most fearful days. Clarifying that, if he trusts in his image, what can man do to harm us?, for which he continues in praise.

It speaks of how evil stalks the life of the just, and it is requested that the men who do so be judged according to their iniquity. Faith is placed in God so that every enemy is turned back. It speaks of the power it has to deliver the soul from death, and the feet from falling.

🙏Prayer Psalm 56🙏

Have mercy on me, O God, for man has trampled me down;
oppresses me fighting me day after day.

All day my enemies trample me,
because there are many who fight against me with pride.

The day that I feared,
I will trust you.

In God I will praise his word;
in God I have trusted; I will not fear.
What can man do to me?

All day they distort my words;
Against me are all your thoughts to evil.

They gather, they hide,
watch carefully my steps,
like those who stalk my life.

Will they escape through iniquity?
O God, bring down the peoples in your anger.

My adventures you have counted;
put my tears in your vial;
are they not in your book?

Then my enemies will be turned back on the day I call.
This I know: God is on my side.

In God I will praise his word;
in Jehovah I will praise his word.

In God I have trusted; I will not fear.
What can man do to me?

Upon me, oh God, are your vows;
I will pay you thank offerings.

Because you have freed my soul from death,
and my feet fall,
to walk before God
in the light of those who live.
