Purpose of the retreat

In these posts we will meditate on how the Holy Spirit, which is pure Love, acts in our soul. In his work Saint John of the Cross speaks of the action of the Holy Spirit, which transforms and prepares the soul for loving union and full happiness, even in this life.

Indwelling of the Trinity in our soul

This love of the Holy Spirit is present in the soul in grace through the indwelling of the Most Holy Trinity, which makes it a participant in divine intimate life and transforms it. This process of transformation by Love is admirably described by Saint John of the Cross in his work “Llama de Amor Viva”.

Who is the Holy Spirit?

Theologian Antonio Royo Marín says so in his work “The Great Unknown. The Holy Spirit and the gifts of him:

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Most Holy Trinity, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, not by way of generation—as the Son is begotten by the Father—but by virtue of a mutual and ineffable current of love between the father and son”.
